There is a very easy way to make some tasty and fast bread. You only need 3 ingredients and a casserole dish with a lid (or something similar that you can put in an oven). Baking the bread in a closed dish will prevent the crust from getting too hard.
Mix together:
- 500g flour
- 1 package of baking powder (that's 15g, I have no idea how it's packaged in the US/UK)
- 1 bottle of beer (0,5l)
Bake for ~60 minutes at 180° (350F)!
Longer version:
Mix everything together! I added roasted onion (the Danish kind) to my mix. But you can add whatever you want. The dough is very liquid and you can't form it, so it's better to use a small dish/baking form. Pour in the casserole dish (use baking paper so you don't have to clean the bottom of the dish). The dough doesn't need to sit. In fact I think it would be too good to let wait too long before you put it in the oven. I don't preheat my oven because it's such an easy recipe the oven won't have a lot of time to heat anyway. Bake for an hour (180°C or 350F). I use a little staff I insert in the bread to check if it's done. And - that's it!
I can't even give a beer recommandation because I tried it with different sorts and it all came out good. The only "problem" is that you will smell the beer when the bread is baking.
